That'll be easy: 1. Click; 2. Type. 3. Try to find where the text was

I've suspected for a long time that there is a bug in the Cocoa text system
that causes the first click to fail to set the insertion point. The second,
deleting 1 space deletes 2 spaces, is something I'm pretty sure I've seen
outside of Xcode, but I'll start watching for it more consciously.
