Strange Xcode messages in console

  • Subject: Strange Xcode messages in console

I'm seeing some strange things in the console when using Xcode and Interface Builder. When I double click a .nib file to open it, if it's not open, everything is fine. If I then, in Xcode, double click the .nib file again, instead of switching to Interface Builder, Xcode opens an empty error and puts:

2003-12-07 15:24:44.666 Xcode[542] ERROR: Someone told an external editor document to openForUI!
2003-12-07 15:24:44.667 Xcode[542] -[PBXFileEditor loadWindow]: failed to load window nib file 'PBXFileEditor'.
2003-12-07 15:24:44.667 Xcode[542] -[PBXFileEditor loadWindow]: failed to load window nib file 'PBXFileEditor'.
2003-12-07 15:24:44.668 Xcode[542] -[PBXFileEditor loadWindow]: failed to load window nib file 'PBXFileEditor'.
2003-12-07 15:24:44.668 Xcode[542] -[PBXFileEditor loadWindow]: failed to load window nib file 'PBXFileEditor'.
2003-12-07 15:24:44.674 Xcode[542] -[PBXFileEditor loadWindow]: failed to load window nib file 'PBXFileEditor'.
2003-12-07 15:24:44.769 Xcode[542] -[PBXFileEditor loadWindow]: failed to load window nib file 'PBXFileEditor'.
2003-12-07 15:24:51.047 Xcode[542] -[PBXFileEditor loadWindow]: failed to load window nib file 'PBXFileEditor'.

Into the console.

When I close a .nib file in IB, this:

2003-12-07 15:24:27.161 Interface Builder[544] WARNING: PBXExternalEditorServer: Attempt to perform a didCloseFile: for an unregistered external editor.

is put into the console. I've removed all the Xcode and IB preferences and restarted them again, but it still happens. I do not have an external editor defined in Xcode (I can't even find where to define it, for that matter!)

Is this something I should worry about, or just give it up to X crazyness?

Thanks,

john
