Debugging Installer/PackageMaker failures

  • Subject: Debugging Installer/PackageMaker failures

I've just released an update to my app (after previous successful updates) and suddenly I'm getting an intermittent failure (not that the Installer notices) on some end-user machines. I can't reproduce it here and naturally it's quite frustrating. The only difference between this release and the others is this is the first one built with Panther.

The user thinks the product is successfully installed but yet it refuses to launch because various bits inside the main application package didn't get installed.

How is one supposed to debug this? Is there an install log put somewhere?

Thanks for any help,

Robert.
