This hasn't happened to me yet, but if I were you I'd run Shark[1] and
sample the attempt to close the window. That'll at least tell you
what's going on...

with your results. I regularly have many source files open (often
dozens) and I never experience delays like this. Is your project
particularly large (thousands of source files)?
