It feels like I'm occasionally loosing mouse events in
Panther,

I feel that way, too. But Xcode is the only application where I could reproduce it.


I am having the same effect here. I even opened a bugreport (3172968). Engineering was requesting a case to reproduce the effect but I was not able to provide anything. Here is what I experience pretty often but not consistently:

When I build my project and there is a compile time error I click the error in the build window. The error line in the editor window gets a dim highlight. I bring the editor window to the front with one click and the inactive hightlight becomes active. I then click at the position in the highlighted source line to position the cursor but nothing happens. Someimes I am not aware of this and I start typing to correct the error... The typing really happens at the place where the cursor has been before, not where I positioned it (ans sometimes it really looks like the cursor is where I expect it to be, but it is not there). This can be in a scrolled-off part of the file so that I do not even realize that some editing happens. Luckily undoing more than one action is possible.

As I said this happens often but is not reproducible at will. This Panther with all the latest updates and Xcode 1.0.1, WebObjects 5.2.2 on a TiBook 800
