__frsqrte and __frsqrtes and -fast

If using -fast as a compiler option, __frsqrte and __frsqrtes (from ppc_intrinsics) become undefined. I'm not sure why; I'm hoping it's NOT because they aren't supported on the G5 (would kill a bunch of my code!)

Anybody know why, off hand? I've parred down what -fast sets to the set I'm interested in, so it's not a big deal (i.e., I can tell you what it's not!)

Why messing around to find out why, I noticed that there's a 3.3 and 3.3-fast folder gcc\darwin. What's the difference?
