Is Xcode 1.1 compatible with Panther DT?

I got XCode 1.1 from the software update system, so I still have the Panther 10.3 version of the other developer tools. (The ADC ftp servers are so crowded I wasn't even able to download the readme, so I guess I have to wait.)

The problem is that they don't seem to be very compatible. I got a lot of problems since I installed XCode 1.1:
1/ the most annoying one is that the build system sometimes get stuck, usually when there is some error in the code. This is very frequent (more than 50% of the times I did a build with an error somewhere). It becomes impossible to stop the build process (which seems finished, in fact), to run or debug the executable, to start a new build. So I have to relaunch XCode. (Any workaround or suggestion VERY welcome!) I have already submitted a bug report on that one.
2/ sometimes the debugger doesn't load properly the classes (i.e. +initialize is not called); this seems quite erratic, but the bug always disappears if I put a breakpoint in the +initialize method.

Do some other people here see these bugs too?
