Brian,
Thank you for your comments and bug reports.
A feature of the Find smart group and the reason that you might want to
keep finds around is that you can multiply select the finds (using
Command-click) and get the union of find results displayed in the
detail view pane. You can then use the toolbar search to narrow down
the field to a small intersection set, giving you a very flexible
multidimensional search capability. Several of the developers I've been
working with, with very large and complex projects, are using this
capability to find function/method usage with varying degrees of
contextual constraints by searching for specific keys surrounding the
function usage and then limiting what is displayed using the toolbar
find as a selection filter.
best,
Godfrey

Here I go again :)
First off, GREAT work on 1.1, a lot of mine and others concerns have
been addressed. Find In Project is 1000 times better!
I've listed a couple new "bugs" (you never know) and suggestions.
I'll repeat them here in case anybody is listening.
1. "only show gutter while debugging" is broken. Gutter is always on
for me, no matter what (radar: 3516266)
2. "no dependancy rules" error for .exp files. Included exp files
(not necessary, but nice to have everything in the same place) throw
up this warning. Should have a simple rule set that is ... ignore me!
(radar: 3516267)
3. removal of unnecessary smart groups (radar: 3516269) *
* this one takes a bit of explaining.
I use the find like I did in PB, I call it up and look at the results
in the find window, then close it when I'm done. Of course, my "find
results" smart group starts to fill ... and fill ... and fill ... I
never open it or look at it. It'd be nice to have an option to remove
that group and throw away all finds when the window closes (like in
PB.)
Same with "build and warnings" ... I always use the build window, so
that's also unnecessary.
"Project Symbols" ... I don't have any :) I'd like to be able to
remove that.
"SCM" should just automatically go away if I don't have SCM on.
Only the "find results" is a big deal. I can certainly live with the
others.
