Hi Pete -

This issue came up on the java-dev list. The short answer is there's a bug in java on 10.3 and Apple's working on a fix. If you're okay with the command line, follow these instructions - worked fine for me.

Subject: Re: Severe Panther problems - Java programs don't work

Since I have a Mac Java Bugs Web site I've taken the liberty of deeming the
Panther problem a bug and posting a page about it at:
http://segal.org/macjavabugs/panther.html
The page incorporates protocols, suggestions and wording from many people. It
is not as useful as having an official Apple page, but the philosophy of the
Mac Java Bugs site is that one can't always wait for official Apple pages.

If you need a URL not on your site to direct people to you can use this one.
Suggestions are welcome (and probably needed).

Subject: Problem with java projects

I'm having a problem running a java project in xcode. I made a Java Swing application project, didn't modify anything and I get the following error when I tried to run it:

"HotSpot not at correct virtual address. Sharing disabled."

Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks,

Pete
