Adriaan,

Please do not rely upon the 10.3 automated bug reporting for issues like this. Please file a bug report using the instructions posted at <http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter>.

Engineering needs to know everything possible about these issues as well as how to reproduce them. I've not heard of others reporting 'mangled .plist' files nor have I seen any reports of crashing prior to this with the updated Xcode IDE so far. If you have seen these issues, particularly on a repeated basis, please file a bug and supply as much information about your system configuration and the nature of the project you are working on.

If you can send an example project which exhibits the behavior, please do. You can send such items to me directly after filing a bug report along with the bug number and I will attach them to the report.

thank you,
Godfrey

Thanks... but...

Now XCode won't open a project I opened yesterday and crashes in stead (bug report automatically sent to Apple). XCode has been terrible. It has severely mangled several .plist files on my disk. I like the concept of XCode, but I'm starting to miss PB. Not as powerful, but at least it was stable.

Keep working on fixes,

Adriaan

Just a FYI -

The Xcode Update addresses an issue in the Xcode IDE that could potentially
lead to data corruption or the loss of files particularly when source files
contain illegal characters. This update is strongly recommended for all
Xcode users.
