I use Project Builder on Panther

Just so you know that it's possible, I'm running Project Builder on Panther. I started with a disk running 10.2.6 with the Developer Tools installed, and I upgraded the OS on the disk to Panther.

I can edit, compile and debug, all in Project Builder while running Panther. It works for me, and it allows me to wait until Xcode matures.

It stands to reason that PB should work on Panther, partly because how else could Apple get Panther out? I find it difficult to imagine that they did it with Xcode.

it my IDE of choice. Now in order to move to Panther, I have no
transition path and I'm forced to use a new IDE that has arguably
important bugs in it. If build settings are not picked up and I have to
spend time figuring out why, or worse if I don't notice it before it's
too late, that impacts me a great deal. If I try to convert a Java
target to native and can't get it to work, that impacts me. If I worry
that something will become corrupted, even if those cases seem isolated,
 that impacts me.

Yeah, I'm coming from the same place, too. I haven't upgraded to Panther yet, and it's entirely because of what I'm hearing about XCode. Otherwise I'm excited about Panther, but I seems like I can't upgrade yet since I'm very dependent on the developer tools, and XCode seems to be so full of problems...
