I had this same thought. After some experimentation, I was not able to get
it to work. All cases, the IDE would complain that the build style was not
set to a build style, but was instead set to a number or string OR it would
corrupt the project and I would not have any build styles in my popup. I
will admit that I overreacted initially. I misread the original post and
thought this applied to Build Styles and to Targets. With the ability to
choose the target and the xcodebuild accepting the last selected build style
for that particular user, we can make due.
