seeing standard include and lib paths

Just kind of curious - why doesn't XCode let you browse
to standard UNIX folders in its navigation dialogs?

An example when you might want to do this:

You start a project and later want to add C++
(or any other UNIX lib that's below /usr).

You choose "Add Files" from the CM on External
Frameworks and Libraries, but in the navigation sheet
that comes up there's no way to get to UNIX dirs that
are hidden in the Finder.

My workaround was to add a symlink to /usr in my home
directory. But it would be nice if XCode just let you
go where you need to go.

Or am I missing a better method of doing this?
