Automate Build Number

Is there a way in Xcode to automate/increment the build number strings in the plist files? Or would I have to write a script to do this somehow?

For example, clicking build in xcode, automatically increments CFBundle version in version.plist, info.plist etc.
I have not used agvtool before but it looks like it sort of does what I am wanting xcode to do. Is agvtool compatible with xcode? I tried it from the terminal when in my project folder and get the message "There are no project files in this directory. agvtool needs a project to operate."

Cheers,

Ian
