Hello:
Sorry - either-or is fine with me. I tried yesterday to use the Xcode tool
that seems to work fine except the input prompts. I would like to learn more
about the command line. In using the command line, does the program run from
the terminal window. If it does, how can I get information on how to do
simple programming in this system?
Thanks for the info - Jesse :)

He means a program that you would execute from the command line (i.e.
from the prompt in a Terminal window), rather than one that you could
double-click in Finder.
If you are after writing a program that only uses the standard C
library, then that is what you want, and if you're using Xcode (as
opposed to running the tools directly from Terminal), you need to use a
"standard tool" project.
Kind regards,
Alastair.
