Anyone else having issues with "show gutter" setting?

I have selected in the "Test Editing" Xcode preferences pane the "Only show gutter while debugging" option to maximumly use editor real-estate. However I still have the gutter showing up in stand alone editor windows and least some of the time (not using the debugger either).

I will try to track down the pattern to this if I get the time so I can file a worth while defect. Anyway...
