Any way to set the default editor window size?

Is there any way to set the default size of a new editor window in Xcode (hidden pref, nib edit, whatever)?

ProjectBuilder had a cumbersome but useful feature whereby we could set the default size and position of just about every type of window through "Workspace Templates" (or something like that).

The default size in Xcode is really, really, tiny--as if designed for a PowerBook 2400 or something. I found the tantalizing looking ".wsTemplate" plists in Application Support, complete with "geometry" entries for various window types.

Unfortunately, editing these seems to have no effect.

Is there any way (hack or otherwise) to force Xcode to open new code editor windows at a more reasonable size for a modern display?

Tia,
