In Project Builder I was able to single-click on a .c/h/m file and have
it come up in the main project window for editing. The ability to do this
seems to be gone. I find the new method to be a waste of time for myself as
I do not have a lightning fast computer able to keep up with switching
windows back and forth constantly and do not have the screen size to keep
them all showing at the same time. (I am running on an IBook 14.1" 600MHZ
1024x768) Nor do I, generally, like having multiple windows open at the same
time for the same project. I appreciated it much more when I could double
click a file and have it open its own window when I did desire more than one
up at a time.
When I have 3 or 4 projects open at the same time (which is often for me
as I have projects which use other library-projects, all in current
development) it is a pain having 2-3 windows open for each project and
having to cycle through them all trying to find the one I want, or going
through a list of 10+ windows in the Window menu. I also find it is much
easier to simply click on the file in the left pane and have it pop open in
the right pane when I am working on two "unrelated" (i.e. Non-counterparts)
files, again without having to deal with the "window cycling" issue.
Is there any way to get the old functionality back in the new XCode or
am I stuck using the new way?
