CVS/SSH authentication issues

  • Subject: CVS/SSH authentication issues

First let me state that CVS with SSH works great in Xcode. I could never get it working in Project Builder, but now it's trivial to use. Good job.

That said, I did have a hard time getting started. Xcode refused to use ssh with CVS until I created rsa1 (~/.ssh/identity) and dsa (~/.ssh/id_dsa) keys. I typically only use the rsa (~/.ssh/id_rsa) key. Saw the errors in Console.app, generated the new keys and then CVS with SSH started working.

Another issue: if I have my public key on the remote site why does Xcode ask me for authentication? Especially after requiring me to have all the keys? If I ssh from the shell I am not prompted for a password, so I know the public key is set properly.

Is needing all key files an Xcode bug that should be filed?
How can I configure Xcode to use the key of my choice and skip the authentication dialog?
