I just tried this with one of the Example applications, built somewhere inside the /Developer/ folder, and found that I could drag the application to the desktop with no problems.

At a guess, perhaps you are trying to do this while you are logged in as a different user? Applications built within the /Devloper/ hierarchy seem to be created by default as being owned by the user that built them, and with group ownership by the Admin group. This would stop them from being moved by any other user.

Try right-clicking on the application, choosing Get Info, and change the Permissions so that other users have access to the file.

I've generated an Application and it's setting in the Build directory/folder with its default icon.
But I can't move it out of there. I tried to slide the icon onto the desktop; but it refuses to go.

What do I need to do to actually acquire this application so I can install it as a regular user (for test purposes)?

Ric.
