Haven't tried that yet, but I turned off Distributed Builds, and all is well again. I turned it back on, and BOOM it broke. The only machines listed for doing distcc are mine and a cow-orker's dual G5. I'm wondering if he upgraded to the latest XCode seed; he's not in the office yet to ask him, but if that is true, he shouldn't show up up as a candidate for distcc in XCode, right?

I guess this really is the issue; as it turns out, I forgot that I was actually using 1.1.1, and since that was never publicly released, Apple didn't see the need to change the versioning when it moved to 1.2? Makes sense. Serves me right for using pre-release software[1], eh? ;)

In any case, problem resolved.
