/usr/lib/*.o missing

I've just done a system install onto a blank partition on a brand-new G5 using
the Software Install and Restore DVD that came with it (10.3.2), and the four
*.o files that should be in /usr/lib are all missing.

I don't know how I could possibly do a "cleaner" install.

What's going on, and what's the best place to discuss this?

I could copy them from the 10.3.0 SDK or from a "working" environment, but
neither of these really sounds like "the right thing."
