fobjc-exceptions generates new warnings?

I just turned on the -fobjc-exceptions flag to enable ObjC
exceptions, and now I get a bunch of warnings look like
"passing arg 1 of `foo:' discards qualifiers from pointer target type"
where the declaration looks like
- (BOOL)foo:(AppleEventPtr)reply
What "qualifier" is it talking about?
