These kinds of gratuitous changes to the UI are very annoying.

It's not as if clicking on an error in the build log in 1.5 does
anything different but useful to someone else, it now does *nothing*
... other than force people to change the way they use the environment.
The only effect I can imagine making it harder to get from warnings to
the code will have is to make people less careful about checking every
warning and thus reduce the overall quality of the code produced.

I have to admire the determination with which the multiple window
paradigm is being pursued (to the extent of adding embedded editors
everywhere so your source file can be open in 5 different windows
simultaneously ... Confused? You will be :-) but I *really* wish some
of this energy was directed at supporting those folks whose
applications have quite enough windows already and who want their
development environment to be contained in just one (Project Builder
had many issues but it definitely scored on this point).

The "solution" that one needs to "forget about those Find and Build
windows and focus on the Detail view" works up to a point (after one
resigns oneself to the extra steps involved) but then one realizes that
some things are missing like options to "Automatically Open Detail View
On Errors" and "Automatically Close Detail View". Gee, the Build
Window already has options like this but now that one can't use it to
navigate to errors they are pretty much useless.

I think the folks designing Xcode should take a long, hard look at the
"necessity" of adding embedded editors everywhere and stop to think
whether a better solution wouldn't to be to simply reduce the number of
windows needed to get anything done.
