OK, all it took was to write for help...
If anyone cares, the checkbox I couldn't find was the one on the
inspector for the project itself. (I.e., select the project at the top
of the Groups & Files list, press cmd-I).
Why couldn't Xcode just tell me that this was what I needed to do when
I asked it to refresh the SCM status, rather than just do nothing,
saying nothing? Oh well, at least I am back up and running.

Hi,
Anybody having trouble with CVS on Xcode 1.5? I upgraded to 1.5 a
week or so ago and things seemed fine until a day ago when I had a
network problem when running Xcode that caused it to ask me whether I
wanted to keep the SCM active (i.e., to keep checking status, I
presume). Because I knew the network problem was going to last a
while, I told it to stop checking the SCM status. Well it has never
come back and I cannot see how to restart it. Asking Xcode to refresh
the SCM status of anything produces absolutely no result; nothing in
the list of files, and nothing in the portion of the window that
normally shows the detailed client/server interaction.
I seem to recall having to check a box somewhere out-of-the-way to
initially get cvs working, but I cannot find this magic checkbox
anywhere.
BTW, cvs is working from the command line just fine, so it does not
seem to be the server, or ssh.
Any ideas on what I have done to break my cvs set up?
