I have just downgraded all my machines to 1.2 and sent a notice to all my teammates urging them to do the same. XCode 1.5 is a *shame* (1.2 wasn't really something to be proud of either, and so was 1.0).

I have a request for future XCode releases: fix the damn bugs **BEFORE** adding useless icons and making stupid changes to the GUI, this is not iMovie, this is a developer environment !!! Developers are supposed to be able to be **PRODUCTIVE**, not spending their times trying to workaround the bugs and other utter nonsense !

(sorry guys, but I am majorly pissed right now).

I have to second this emotion.

Xcode is THE primary tool in my critical path to getting work done on my Mac. When a bug in Xcode gets in my way it is a MAJOR problem because I'm no longer doing MY job, I'm working for Apple debugging their program. I yearn for a stable (and _responsive_) development environment where I'm not always battling bugs and/or quirks.

We, too, have had to downgrade to 1.2 because of an apparent problem with the compiler having to do with template instance generation. (Problem has been reported via an unofficial channel - I'm waiting for confirmation on whether my bug matches an already reported one.)

It also irks me that I can't have both 1.2 and 1.5 installed at the same time. It would be easier to test new versions and compare their behavior to previous versions if we could switch between them more easily. Don't even get me started about having to boot off a DIFFERENT DISK (with Jaguar on it) so that I can reproduce a build in Project Builder! If this happens again for Xcode 2.0 with Tiger I think my adrenals may explode!
