That did it - thank you very much.

It's weird though that I would have to change this in a Java
project that was working fine under 1.2.  In fact, I was
completely unaware of this option and did always assume that
the debugger is set according to the project type.

The active build style is set to development, 'generate debug symbols'
is activated and was able to reproduce this behaviour on a G4 PB and

PS: BTW: Clicking 'Pause' in the debugger GUI brings up assembly
code (instead of Java (byte) code)...
