Errors indicators not clearing

Hi,
Lately I have been getting strange behavior in an Xcode project. i
have re-installed Xcode and created a new project but this did not fix
the problem.
When I have an error it shows in the gutter of the source code window,
the Build window and the project window under "Errors and Warnings".
When I correct the error and build the error no longer shows in the
build window but continues to show in the source code window and the
project window.
Additionally Cmd-K (compile) no longer seems to work.
This is making Xcode very difficult to use.
Help!
