java application targeting

Hello all,
I am just migrated from CodeWarrior to XCode and am having a few problems.
I'm building a java application, I just want to output the jar and
run it (as if from the command line) with a few command line
arguments. I used to do this in CW under the 'runtime settings' for
the particular target.
I've successfully built my project in XCode and run the resultant jar
from the command line via the terminal but I can't figure out how to
get XCode to launch the jar automatically. I *don't* want my app
bundled as an application, I want it to remain as a jar file so have
tried the 'package' and 'tool' target types, these don't seem to let
me run and execute though.
Is there any way of doing this - I've tried adding a shell script as
part of the build to just launch the jar but this isn't working
either (presumably because the jar isn't output until after all build
stages have finished).
Any help much appreciated - please cc direct to my mail as well as
the list as I'm on 'digest' mode and could do with an answer asap.
Thanks again.
