The "-L<library>" is suspicious, because this shouldn't be a library; it should be a directory that contains a library. The "-l" option is used to link libraries themselves...

The typo was mine...sorry. The link line would like like:

<blah> <blah> -L/path/to/library.dylib -llibrary
