Hello everyone,
I9m a newcomer to the list (I9ve replied twice now, and even put in some
useful info in one of them!) so forgive me if this has already come up.
I have been using distributed building since panther and XCode shipped, and
it's been nice, however the copy of panther on my tower hasn't ever been
quite right.
When I updated both machines to 10.3.2 and XCode 1.1, distributed building
quit working. I never really thought about trying to make it work because I
had a bunch of other things I needed to get done. Well today I decided to
look into it, after downloading and playing with Rendezvous Browser (
http://build.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21622 ) and seeing that
my tower was reporting in as Darwin 7.0.0. I know I installed the 10.3.2
update when it shipped, and the machine says it was 10.3.2 in the about box,
but I had an old version of Darwin. So I installed the 10.3.2 update again
(took some work to let me install it again let me tell you!) and upon
restarting, it reported in as Darwin 7.2.0. Just want I wanted.
I fired up XCode on my TiBook, and started a build... Looked good, it was
compiling files 2 at a time. Then I fired up top on both machines.... I had
cc1obj running twice on my TiBook.
It seems that distcc is still not happy with my setup. My tower is messed up
and I'm about to do the windows route - if it don't work, reinstall. I'd
like to know why it doesn't work before I reinstall my tower so I don't wind
up with the same problems again...
Any idea?
Nate
