I'm running the pre-release XCode 1.1 (Muon).
I haven't downloaded the released XCode 1.1 because I don't have access
to a high speed connection and I want to get the complete tools, not
just the XCode IDE.
I got the Jan 04 Developer mailing with the Developer DVD Series Jan
2004 with completely updated documentation.
I copied all the Documentation folders to my hard drive
"Developer/Documentation" directory and now XCode Help:Developer
Documentation:Search function is broken.
I can access all the new documentation .html documents but API and Full
Text searches return nothing.
Checking my system log and my hard drive I find that the appropriate
index files (e.g. "Cocoa idx") are missing while everything else is
present.
I'm guessing that these indexes are created by Apple and I'm out of
luck until I get the complete XCode 1.1 tools and documentation.
I'm also guessing that just copying my old index files to the right
places will be really dumb. (being over cautious I did keep all my old
documentation folder/files).
How can I make my search functions work again?
Can I download the proper index files from ADC?
Why did Apple leave the index files out of the Developer DVD?
Is Verizon finally going to get my hard earned sheckels for a DSL
connection?
