Why the CC to the Cocoa-Dev list Stiphane? :)
Because I'm a moron (and a recidivist one) when it comes to replying to
the appropriate mailing-list.

Wrong. Some people even file bug reports on the packaging.
Funny as it is, it might even be the correct thing to do it when the
packaging is as weird and broken as it was this year. What was wrong
with the simple, elegant, and functional design of the packaging used
2002?
As I filed bug reports on both packages, I might be able to provide an
answer:
2002: the DVD box was not strong enough to support the journey.
2003: the DVD box is bullet proof but it's a long journey to reach a
specific DVD in the box.
Stream the video files over the Internet instead, and skip the whole
DVD thing all together, or keep it as an option you have to pay for.
I don't know which kind of connection you're using. But the video
stream quality is not as good as the quality of the video in the
DVDs. The only pro of video stream is the speed to go to a particular
moment of a presentation thanks to instant something.
Let's make it a progressive download then, which would allow you to
view it at the quality of your choice, regardless of your connection
speed. Besides, if you save money by not getting a high speed Internet
connection, you can use some of it to pay for the DVDs.
Correct.
Also, if they package the presentation slides with the streams, you
wouldn't really need DVD-Video quality in any case. The audio track
would be the most interesting part of the stream, and that can be
delivered to a modem user.
I don't think an audio track is a good idea. Mainly for visual demo and
you would miss the slides even more.
