Hoping for some help,
I'm absolutely brand new to Xcode and its environment.
I teach a java and c++ course for students. We have used Code Warrior
in the past, but after upgrading to Panther, our version of Code
Warrior refuses to work.
I decided to try XCode...Two problems...
First...I'm unable to get the debugger to work and am trying to
discover how to get the editor to point to simple errors like missing
punctuation, undefined identifiers, common spelling issues, etc. I've
tried to launch debugger without any success and am having no luck with
the "errors and warnings" button. I'm sure I'm doing something
remarkably stupid and careless, but I'm not having much luck finding
anything in the documentation on cd.
Second...I've had my students testing some simple programs. All of the
programs work with the exception of one that "imports"
javax.swing.JOptionPane. The software works fine when I log onto our
server with teacher privileges, but fails to run (error -50) when
students try to run it. I suspect it is a privilege error in which
case I'm probably asking the wrong group, but am not certain.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
