I would tread *very* carefully here. Just because the company doesn't exist
anymore does NOT mean that someone does not still own a valid copyright to
the product. If you can't get permission from a copyright holder, rather
then doing something that might land you in a lot of trouble (like
decompiling a shareware binary), I would suggest going to Sourceforge.net
and finding an old open source project to play with.
