I never really got agvtool to work myself, and when I did get it to
somewhat work I had that "changed externally" error.  What I ended up
doing was writing a shell script that did automatic build numbers for
me (which is what i wanted in the first place).  It increments the "z"
in a x.y.z version number each time it is run (I made it a custom shell
script at the end of the build phase).  I also went this route as it
let me customize the version strings a bit easier.  If you would like I
can e-mail the script to you with some simple instructions - I haven't
had time yet to put a full set of instructions inside the script so I
don't have it up for general download yet.
