I'm still getting used to Xcode, so maybe this is a known issue with a workaround. When editing code, it's *extremely* sluggish on my G5. To the point where deleting or adding a single character can take up to a full second. It's almost like my machine is swapping like mad, but according to top, that's not the case. I thought it might be my use of multiple fonts, but reverting back to a single font didn't help the situation.

My last thought is that it might be code sense, but that's a feature I very much want. I'm working on a medium-sized project: 50 files or so, 5000-odd symbols... not small, but not unreasonable, either. Or at least, that's what I'd hope. That wouldn't be pushing code sense past it's limits, would it?

You don't say what version of Xcode you are using.

I have projects (including frameworks) around that size and don't see this issue, things are always snappy for me. I would try sampling Xcode when it is this state to understand what it working on. A quick graphical way to do this is to launch Activity Monitor (found in /Applications/Utilities/) and then in the process list find Xcode and click the Sample Process button (you may have to customize the tool bar to show that button) or select Sample from the Process menu.
