SmartGroup RegEx syntax

  • Subject: SmartGroup RegEx syntax

Like a couple of other people that have mailed this list before, I cannot figure out what regular expression syntax is used for SmartGroups. It has been suggested that it's the same as TCL's syntax (see the re_syntax(n) manpage), and while this is true for Find In Project, it is certainly not true for SmartGroups. The documentation suggested looking at the regexp(3) manpage for the appropriate syntax, but I got different results for ?*\.(m|c|M|C) and ?*\.[mcMC], so the documentation seems wrong.

Could someone please reveal the real syntax for Xcode's Regular Expression SmartGroup's? Someone on the Xcode team must know... would one of you clue us in? Should I email email@hidden instead? Thanks for any help.
