Maybe you found a bug in Interface Builder. Write down how to reproduce
this from scratch (which developer tools to use, with which template to
start, where to click, ...) and report it at
<http://bugreporter.apple.com/>.
As you already have found a workaround, this might be not too high on
priority list, however.
My second problem is setting the Key Equiv on the "Convert" Button.
According to the tutorial, setting this to "Return" in the Attributes
panel will make the button respond to the return key.
I did this tutorial as well some time ago and can't remember any issue
here. If you did it right, the button will become blue - like any other
default button. If not, well, play around a little more until it does
... :-)
