Well.. I don't think the port number really matters.
I think my problems were due to a zombied distcc, or something like
that. Killing all distcc processes allowed me to build again. I don't
know how distcc got zombied, as I have not (today) halted a build
sequence or had a build sequence other wise abnormally terminate.
