Mark,
I'm not a gprof expert but one of my more savvy colleagues commented:
When I compile a simple program on the command line and run 'gprof -S
<exec>' I only see that message when I don't compile the executable
with symbols. Even though I see the message I still get the four
.order files, but obviously not with the resolved names.
When I used gprof with a simple Cocoa app I got this message as well,
but still generated information for my application's code. So my guess
is it's probably because he is using shlibs or libraries he doesn't
have symbols for. Ask him if the .order files are empty and if 'gprof
-S' doesn't report statistics for his code.
best,
Godfrey

ordered)
I recompiled my program with the -g flag, but the same error message
appears. What do I have to do to generate the .order files?
