Did you check the offending line by opening the .xcode file inside the .xcode package using e.g. TextEdit?
If it's indeed a keyword substitution thing, you should be able to find out by looking at the offending line.

I've seen this before if you have a file or bookmark that has the magic CVS keyword substitution characters in its name.
