Drag from one project to a new project?

I just dragged some files from a Finder window into a new project. OK, nice. Is it possible to do so from another project? Also, how do I drag a file (from Finder or from another project) in a way that *copies* the file, instead of just linking to it?

Gracias for the help. (I find the help viewer for Xcode to be somewhat NASTY.)
