Joy and rapture! It's amazing what several hours of playing about with
something will do.
I've "fixed" the line feed thing. It was all down to my custom key
bindings. Reverting to the Xcode default ones has cured the line ending
problem. It's also fixed:
* In many Xcode dialogues, hitting return would insert a return in to
an active text field, instead of confirming the dialogue.
* Pressing escape in a text field would generally insert an escape
character, causing compiles to fail, and annoying the hell out of me
because I'm used to it dismissing a window.
But it's all _fine_ now. I was wondering how everyone had put up with
these outrageous bugs for so long: but of course, no one else has them.
I'll work out _why_ my bindings are doing this, and submit it as a bug.
