Just a heads up that the various *.mode* files track information about
your workspace configuration. It's nothing critical to the project so
it is safe to throw them away. However, if you do run across a bug that
is fixed by moving aside the .mode1 file, it's a good idea to file a
bug describing the problem and include the bad .mode1 file.

I have discoved a way to get around some Xcode problems. In the
.xcode application bundle there is a file called <user>.mode1. Simple
dragging this file to the trash will cause many troubles to
disappear. For example, I was creating a new project about once a
week because the compiler would start recompiling everything all the
time and/or the debugger windows would get out of sync with scrolling
and not display information properly. Throwing away the .mode1 fixes
both these problems immediately.
