Thanks for the NSTextField help thus far

  • Subject: Thanks for the NSTextField help thus far

I've already gotten two replies to my question and
they both pointed me to the currency
converter/calculator example in the cocoa tutorial. I
realize how the simplicity of my question might have
confused some of you since the answer was right there
in the beginning of the cocoa tutorial, but I looked
last night through the cocoa documentation and never
found that tutorial!

One of the things about mac development I've always
hated was how tough I find it to wade through the
abstract and confusing documentation.

The thing that throws me is that I guess I have to
sub-class the NSObject class of the MainMenu.nib,
create outlets for that class, and connect those
outlets to my NSTextFields. I never would have thought
of that. I'm used to the main app window already being
the class that I would use, and the abstractness of
creating one myself is just confusing! Ugh!

If anyone can confirm my assessment of what is ahead
of me, which I wrote in the previous paragraph, that
would be great.

Thanks..
