Thank you. An answer finally.
Googling the reverse, "classpath xcode" does not return this entry in the first page and I did not look in "Developer Tools Help" but in the help of xcode, where I did not find this either.
Yet this finally answers the question

A simple Google search of "xcode classpath site:apple.com" revealed as its third hit the following archived posting from this list:

with the text:
" If you open the "Target" category and double-click on your target, you
should see the window that you are looking for. It's laid out just like
it was in Project Builder; "Pure Java-Specific" is under "Info.plist
Entries > Simple View". You can set the Main Class and Classpath there."
I found similar information by opening "Developer Tools Help" and searching for "classpath" there.
