You want to change the 'Product Name' in the build settings of the target that builds the tool. Executables items in Xcode are just used to access built and custom executables and how they are launched, they are not used to define anything about how the executable is built (that's what targets are for).

I noticed when doing a build that my executable had the wrong name:
Ld /Users/markian/Documents/School/PhD/Development/CodeGen/ codegeneration/build/myMona
cd /Users/markian/Documents/School/PhD/Development/CodeGen/ codegeneration
/usr/bin/g++-3.3 -o /Users/markian/Documents/School/PhD/Development/CodeGen/ codegeneration/build/myMona -L/Users/markian/Documents/School/PhD/Development/CodeGen/ codegeneration/build -F/Users/markian/Documents/School/PhD/Development/CodeGen/ codegeneration/build -filelist /Users/markian/Documents/School/PhD/Development/CodeGen/ codegeneration/build/codegeneration.build/LoseCheckers.build/ Objects-normal/myMona.LinkFileList -arch ppc -Wl,-no_arch_warnings

The name on the first line their should be theTurkey, not myMona. So, I clicked under the appropriate executable under the executable tab in the project. Then I hit command-I to get the info window,which whows my the executable path. But, I can't modify it, and the "choose" button is greyed out!

I tried doing a clean to see if tat would let me change it, but it doesn't. Can someone please help? I've done this before, I'm sure...

Incidentally, the "name" is correct in the "Target" info, but the "Product" is incorrect. Does that help?
