Even better than filtering it out, you can bind ^X^S to Save File.
Open the Preferences
Go to Key Bindings
Choose Text Key Bindings
Open the File Operations turndown
Double-click on Save Document
If you haven't done this before, it will ask you if you want to make a
copy of the set. Say yes
Then double click again to edit the Save Document line.
Type Control-X Control-S
Be happy...

I am glad to have some of my emacs keybindings in Xcode however I
find myself, mostly through muscle memory or something, trying to C-x
C-s to save my "buffer" in Xcode's text editor.
This inserts invisible characters into my buffer that prevent
compilation requiring me to kill and retype whole lines over again.
It's a pain and I hope I'm not the only one doing it because I'd hope
there'd be some scriptable solution or way to configure Xcode to
filter that stuff out.
Anyone got some AppleScript or something I can use to remove these
characters from my buffers/files?
I'd search the archives but they appear to be gone :(.
