I've done this before, but It's been a little while, so I must have forgotten something.

I'm adding a target to an existing project. When I chose Add->New Target->Shell Tool, I get a new target with the subclasses "Sources" and "Frameworks & Libraries". All my other targets say "Headers" and "Sources". Maybe I just renames the latter one, but I don't recall. Thus:

1. Is there a way to create a new target based on a "copy" of an existing target, and then make modifications?

Control click on the target and select Duplicate

That's what I was missing, thanks!

But, how do I add or change subgroups under a target? If I right-click on my target's sub-groups, nothing appropriate seems to appear.

Yeah, I purposely skipped question 2 because I don't really know. The sub-groups that are created for a target are based upon the type of target you create. So when you right click on "Target" and select Add New target and give it a type of target the sub-groups are created appropriate for that target. How to change the sub-groups after that I'm not really sure. Hopefully someone else can help here.

3. I know where to set my Target's build name, in Target Info under the build tab. But I recall needing to also set a build target path at one point. Where do I do this?

I set the Build path in the Executable's property under the General tab. Chris, or someone else can tell you if that's the best place.

ah. of course. Thanks!
